We appreciate your willingness to pitch in and help improve Prince William County’s trails and blueways. There are many options to choose from: volunteer on work days (field work), become a member, tell others about our work, or make a financial or in-kind contribution. Use your talents, energy and time to support your Trails and Streams community. With your help, we can do more!
Field Work
We have regular workdays on the second Saturday of each month, as well as many other volunteer activities at locations across the county. You do not need to be PWTSC member to volunteer on work days. Click here to see our calendar of events.
Adopt-A-Trail and Adopt-A-Stream
Trails and streams need parents too! As we continue to extend and connect our County trails they will need periodic maintenance by residents and users like you.
As a “Trail Adopter” you will play an essential role in continuing to provide premium, public recreational trails throughout Prince William County. You will keep the trail, or section of trail, you adopt clear of trash and debris, and identify projects for future field work.
As a “Stream Adopter” you will remove trash in and along an assigned section of stream. This will be especially important after periods of heavy rain and/or flooding within the county. To adopt a stream or help with a one-time stream cleanup, please visit the Prince William Soil & Water Conservation District.
Other Support Activities
In addition to our outdoor volunteer work, there is also a need for individuals or groups to help administer the non-profit business as we continue to grow. PWTSC will be working directly with the residents, staff, and businesses of Prince William County as we strive to achieve success, providing for public recreational needs. Spread the word about PWTSC – send a link of this website to a friend or relative who might be interested.

Fund Raising
PWTSC is an all volunteer organization and has few operational costs; donations cover direct program expenses. Your monetary and in-kind contributions will directly support trail building, stream recreation and educational efforts in support of the PWTSC mission.
