SUMMARY:Trash cleanup of Marumsco Creek and wetland\, at Veteran's Park - April 2\, 2022
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to help remove trash from Marumsco Creek and wetland\, on Saturday April 2\, 2022.  Please register here.  We’ve done a number of cleanups at this location previously\, but not in the past few years\, and trash has been accumulating.  This cleanup will focus specifically on the stream corridor and wetland\, as shown on the maps.  This is an undeveloped area of Veteran’s Park.  The trash in the wetland is carried in with storm water from the developed areas upstream.  Pictures are shown below. \nParking and check-in for the cleanup will be at the parking lot for the Little League ball fields.  Volunteers will walk from there to the cleanup area. \nThe PW Dept of Parks\, Recreation and Tourism will have staff on hand with utility vehicles to haul the collected trash back to a dumpster. \nLocation:  Veteran’s Park\, 14300 Veteran’s Drive\, Woodbridge VA\, 22191 \nTime:  9:00 am to noon \nQuestions?  contact secretary@pwtsc.org \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n  \n  \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:First Day Hike (Jan 1) in Lake Ridge was postponed due to rain.  We have rescheduled and will offer the hike on two different days: \n– Saturday\, January 8; 9:00 – 11:00 am\n– Monday\, January 17; 1:00 – 3:00 pm (Martin Luther King federal holiday). \nPlease register here (first step is to choose one of the dates).  Registration will allow us to track the number of participants\, and notify you if the hike is postponed or cancelled because of weather conditions. \nThis hike is on a section of the planned Occoquan Greenway Trail with scenic views of Hooes Run and the Occoquan Reservoir. DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed for a trash cleanup at the Neabsco Boardwalk on Saturday morning\, November 13\, 2021. SUMMARY:Paddling trip on Bull Run - Oct 19\, 2019
DESCRIPTION:Bring your boat\, come out and join us for a canoeing and kayaking trip on Bull Run on Saturday\, October 19\, starting at 9:30 am. \nWe’ll start at the stream access point at the Stone Bridge parking lot in Manassas National Battlefield Park\, off of Lee Highway (Rt 29). \nExit point will be the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail parking area at Rt 28\, on the Fairfax County side of Bull Run. \nDistance is about 5.75 miles\, and the paddling trip will probably take about three hours. There is a current in this part of Bull Run\, so paddling is current-assisted.  There are some shallow areas where\, depending on water level\, you may scrape the bottom of your boat or even have to get out and pull the boat a short distance. \nPlease register HERE  \nContact secretary@pwtsc.org if you have questions.
