2nd Sunday Hike – October 11, 2026 – Belmont Bay to Veterans Park

Join us for the 2nd Sunday hike on October 11, 2026, from Belmont Bay to Veterans Park in Woodbridge VA. The hike will start at the Potomac Science Center – GMU in Belmont Bay, and we’ll hike to Veterans Park and return. The route features portions of the waterfront Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail, former golf course property that will become public park land, and crossing the pedestrian bridge over the rail tracks to take a look at the planned trail route which will connect Veterans Park to Jefferson Park and Rt 1. The distance is about 3.5 miles, walking on flat terrain and hard surface trails (blacktop path, former golf cart paths, gravel). An option is available for a longer return trip that includes more green space and waterfront (for a hike distance of 4.25 miles).
