Thanks to the many volunteers who participated in the cleanup! About 260 bags of trash (primarily plastic bottles) and 80 tires were removed from the Neabsco Creek watershed.
Several groups participated in the cleanup, including: Girl Scout Service Unit 80-9 consisting of troops from eastern PW County; Sev1Tech; and Verizon.
Sponsors included PW Trails & Streams Coalition, PW Water & Soil Conservation District, Virginia American Water, and the Woodbridge-Potomac Communities Civic Association.
And this year for the first time, volunteers sponsored by REI worked from the Neabsco Boardwalk to access the areas where trash had accumulated nearby.
And thank you to all the individuals and families who came out for the cleanup, as stewards of our County parkland and water quality.
