On Saturday, November 14, 2015 we partnered with the PWC Parks Dept and Prince William Soil & Water Conservation District to complete the fall cleanup at Veteran’s Park. We concentrate on the area where Marumsco Creek enters the park, and the wetlands that the creek flows through. Storm water runoff from the developed areas carries trash into the creek, and much of it gets caught in the twists and turns of the creek or deposited in the wetlands. Volunteers and park staff gathered many bags of trash and other debris, nearly filling the large dumpster as shown in the picture below.
